Our Nursery Staff
We have a loyal and dedicated team, most of whom have been working with us for 12 years on average. This helps the children to get to know and build relationships with all members of staff in the nursery and settle quickly as they progress through the different rooms.
Donna Patterson – Director of HR & Organisational Development. I joined Nescot in 2008, and have had line management of the Nursery Manager since April 2014 and then the Nursery Business Manager since January 2017. It is immensely satisfying to be with such dedicated and professional staff who work very hard to give all the children in their care an excellent experience. I cannot recommend enough the Nestots team who provide a warm and welcoming environment to all the children.
Julia Donovan – Nursery Manager. I have worked at Nestots since April 2007 and have seen the nursery expand and progress to the amazing place it is today. I started my childcare adventure in 1996, where I attended Nescot, completing my NNEB (Level 3 Childcare Qualification) in 1998. I completed a Foundation Degree in Management and Leadership in Early Years in 2011, which has come in useful. Over the years I have worked in several day nurseries including 2 privately-owned nurseries and a chain nursery, working within different rooms and with all age groups from birth to 5 years, giving me an insight into how children learn and express themselves through different ways and means. I am married and have two cheeky daughters of my own, so can sympathise, relate and offer advice to parents if they have any questions or concerns and can point them in the right direction. Nestots is a fun and lovely place to be and work, we have an amazing team of staff who are highly qualified and experienced and know how to get the best from the children in a fun and educational way.
Sharon Fuller – Nursery Business Manager. I joined Nestots in January 2017 as cover for Maternity leave and have been here ever since! I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Early Years Childcare and Leadership and I am currently undertaking an Apprenticeship in Business Management. I have worked with children since 2002 and my background is in Special Needs. I started off working with visually impaired children, then became a specialist Language and Communication teaching assistant before deciding to step into the magical world of Early Years as an Early Years SENCO in a large nursery attached to a Children’s Centre. I am passionate about children’s learning and their well-being and I enjoy nothing better than going into the rooms to have a hug, sprinkle some glitter, sing song and, if I’m allowed, have a little dance! I am married and have four grown up children, including a set of identical twins and I’ve survived! I love Nestots and being part of Nescot college and all the wonderful opportunities we have on site and it’s wonderful to work alongside everyone to continue making the nursery a very special place to be.
Rachael Head – Deputy Manager. I have worked at Nestots for 5 and a half years. Nestots was my first step into childcare as a Cache Level 3 Apprentice, which I completed in 2014. I have worked my way up and am now the Deputy Manager working alongside Sharon and Julia, and you’ll find me in Purple Room supporting the rest of the team. My key strengths are an up-to-date knowledge of the Early Years Framework, and an open-minded and approachable nature which is an essential communication tool between management and staff. I feel I am calm, caring, helpful and patient which I hope is reflected in the wellbeing and happiness of the children in our care. Being with the children every day, I get to see them develop and become their own individual characters. It is lovely to know that I’ve made an impact on a child’s development as they start their lifetime journeys. Nestots is a place where children thrive in a happy and safe environment.
Meena Soomarooa – Early Years Supervisor. I have worked at Nestots since 2013 and you’ll find me in Green Room. I am a level 3 Nursery Nurse and I have over 10 years of childcare experience. I am a qualified early years practitioner with extensive knowledge of early childhood development. I am friendly and approachable and have built up strong relationships with the parents of the children within my room as well as within the nursery. I love working with children and my mission is to help each child develop a strong belief in his or her own ability. I also enjoy working with parents and colleagues to ensure I deliver the best childcare. It gives me enormous satisfaction that I can help the children in my care develop and progress at this very important stage.
Laura Lindsay – Early Years Supervisor. I have been working at Nestots for 14 years. I have always been in Blue Room with the 18-month to two-year-olds, so I am very familiar with that age group. I started my training at Nescot college in 1998 and qualified in the year 2000 with the NNEB Level 3. Once I qualified I worked at a nursery for two years with 2 to 3-year-olds. Then I moved on to a crèche where I worked in the mornings and I also did kids camps in the holidays. In the afternoon I worked in an after-school club. I did this until 2003 when I started to work at Nestots. I have always loved working with children and knew that it would be the career that I would choose. I am married with two boys of my own, so there is never a dull moment.
Ritu Chaturvedi – Early Years Supervisor. I joined Nestots almost two years ago, and it is certainly a great place to work. I am qualified to Level 3 in Childcare & Education and I’m currently working as an Early Years Supervisor. I have worked in different roles related to childcare settings for over 10 years, working my way up to the role of Deputy Manager of a Children’s Centre. I am a graduate and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management & Industrial Relations. In recent years I have acquired a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and Level 2 in Leadership & Management which helps me in delivering my duties. I am passionate about offering high-quality childcare and education. I believe in hard work and keeping the atmosphere lively with a positive mind set. Working alongside my wonderful, highly-talented teammates at Nestots, I ensure that children’s developmental needs are always supported, and successful outcomes are achieved. I find my job incredibly rewarding. I have worked with children from 3 months to 5 years and I am also a mum myself with lovely two grown up boys. I love seeing the children develop and learn new things during their journey at the nursery. I strive to create a stimulating, safe environment which enables all children to reach their full potential.
